__ Where we cover

Drone surveys across Glasgow

The city, the West End, the Southside and the towns around them.

Glasgow is built on the sandstone tenement. In the West End, the Southside and Dennistoun, rows of four-storey tenements have shared slate roofs, chimney stacks and gutters where every owner needs to agree on repairs. Heavy rainfall finds every weak point.

The city also has post-war tower blocks and housing estates, Victorian commercial buildings in the Merchant City and industrial sites along the Clyde. We work for factors, owners, housing associations, the council, surveyors and commercial clients.

__ Local knowledge

Flying in Glasgow: the airspace we plan around

The city sits under Glasgow Airport’s controlled airspace. These are the checks we make for every Glasgow address before we quote.

Glasgow Airport

Glasgow Airport, near Paisley, has controlled airspace over the city and a Flight Restriction Zone around the airport. We arrange clearance from air traffic control before the survey date.

HMP Barlinnie

The prison in the east of the city has restricted airspace around it. Nearby sites need extra planning.

Stadiums and events

Match days at Celtic Park, Ibrox and Hampden, and big events at the SEC, bring crowds. We plan survey dates and timings around them.

Rail lines

Lines run through Central and Queen Street stations across the city and the west of Scotland. Network Rail has its own rules for drones near its property, on top of CAA rules.

Restricted doesn’t mean impossible

Restricted zones need more planning and the right permissions. They don’t stop a survey going ahead. Our pilots and office team work together to get approval for even the trickiest Glasgow sites.

  • Airspace checked for every address before we quote
  • Permissions requested on your behalf
  • Risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) for every job
  • Weather planned in, including thermal survey conditions

Watch the inspection live

We can live-stream the flight so you and your team can see the inspection as it happens, talk to the pilot and ask for a closer look at specific areas, without travelling to site.

Mapping and surveyor support

As well as imagery and reports, we produce maps, 3D models, point clouds and internal and external scans, so surveyors can measure and report on Glasgow assets with fewer site visits.

__ FAQs

Glasgow drone survey FAQs

Can’t find your answer? Call us on 0345 017 5592 or see all FAQs.

Can you survey a shared tenement roof?

Yes. Tenement roofs, chimneys and gutters are usually shared, so repairs need every owner’s agreement. A drone survey gives all the owners the same dated images of the whole roof, which makes it easier to agree what needs doing.

Do you cover the towns around Glasgow?

Yes. As well as the city, we survey Paisley, Clydebank, Rutherglen, East Kilbride and towns across the west of Scotland. Send us the address and we’ll confirm.

Is my site inside Glasgow Airport’s airspace?

Most of the city is. That doesn’t stop a survey going ahead: we check every address before we quote and request clearance from air traffic control.

How quickly can you get to a site in Glasgow?

Glasgow is about 220 miles from our Liverpool head office, so we plan visits in advance and often group them together. We’ll give you a date when we send your quote.

How much does a drone roof survey in Glasgow cost?

Our drone roof inspections start from £250 + VAT for domestic properties and £350 + VAT for commercial properties, the same as anywhere else we cover. Larger sites and portfolios are quoted individually. See our drone survey prices.

Do I need to be on site for the survey?

Not usually. For most surveys we only need permission to access the area we fly from. If you’d like to see the inspection, we can live-stream it so you can watch remotely and direct the pilot.
