Drone surveys in Lincoln: roof surveys for the historic city and Lincolnshire
Drone roof surveys, building inspections, thermal surveys and measured surveys across Lincoln, North Hykeham and the rest of Lincolnshire.
Listed buildings on the hill, Victorian terraces below it and new housing around the edge of the city. We survey roofs and high-level details without scaffolding and deliver everything to your online portal.
Drone surveys across Lincoln
The historic uphill, the city centre and the towns and villages around Lincoln.
Lincoln is a city of two halves. Uphill, around the cathedral and the castle, are medieval, Georgian and listed buildings on narrow, steep streets where scaffolding is slow and disruptive. Downhill are the Brayford waterfront, the university, shops, offices and long streets of Victorian terraces.
Around the edge of the city we survey housing estates, schools, industrial units and new-build sites in North Hykeham, Bracebridge Heath and the villages beyond. We work for housing associations, the council, the university, landlords, surveyors and commercial owners.

Lincolnshire has a lot of military flying. These are the checks we make for every Lincoln address before we quote.
RAF Waddington
RAF Waddington, just south of the city, is an active military airfield and home to the Red Arrows. Sites near it need permission, which we arrange before the survey date.
Other military airfields
RAF Scampton, north of the city, closed in 2023. RAF Cranwell and RAF Coningsby are further south. We check every address for any restrictions in place.
HMP Lincoln
The prison on Greetwell Road, east of the cathedral, has restricted airspace around it. Nearby sites need extra planning.
Rail lines
Lines run through Lincoln Central towards Newark, Sheffield and Grimsby, with level crossings in the city centre. Network Rail has its own rules for drones near its property, on top of CAA rules.

Restricted doesn’t mean impossible
Restricted zones need more planning and the right permissions. They don’t stop a survey going ahead. Our pilots and office team work together to get approval for even the trickiest Lincoln sites.
- Airspace checked for every address before we quote
- Permissions requested on your behalf
- Risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) for every job
- Weather planned in, including thermal survey conditions

Watch the inspection live
We can live-stream the flight so you and your team can see the inspection as it happens, talk to the pilot and ask for a closer look at specific areas, without travelling to site.
Mapping and surveyor support
As well as imagery and reports, we produce maps, 3D models, point clouds and internal and external scans, so surveyors can measure and report on Lincoln assets with fewer site visits.
Other areas near Lincoln
We also have local pages for these nearby towns and cities. Distances are approximate, by road from Lincoln.
Do you cover the rest of Lincolnshire?
Yes. As well as the city, we survey North Hykeham, Sleaford, Gainsborough, Market Rasen and towns and villages across Lincolnshire. Send us the address and we’ll confirm.
Can you survey listed buildings in the Cathedral Quarter?
Yes. A drone survey doesn’t touch the building, so it’s well suited to listed buildings and conservation areas. We arrange landowner permission and plan around visitors.
Is my site near RAF Waddington?
Sites close to the airfield need permission before we can fly. We check every address before we quote, so you’ll know about any restrictions up front.
How quickly can you get to a site in Lincoln?
Lincoln is about 120 miles from our Liverpool head office, so we plan visits in advance and often group them together. We’ll give you a date when we send your quote.
How much does a drone roof survey in Lincoln cost?
Our drone roof inspections start from £250 + VAT for domestic properties and £350 + VAT for commercial properties, the same as anywhere else we cover. Larger sites and portfolios are quoted individually. See our drone survey prices.
Do I need to be on site for the survey?
Not usually. For most surveys we only need permission to access the area we fly from. If you’d like to see the inspection, we can live-stream it so you can watch remotely and direct the pilot.
