Drone surveys in Liverpool: roof surveys and inspections from our home city
Drone roof surveys, building inspections, thermal surveys and measured surveys across Liverpool and Merseyside, from our head office in Speke.
Our office and team are based on Estuary Business Park in Speke, a few minutes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, so Liverpool is where we fly most. We know the city’s airspace well and handle all the permissions for you.
Drone surveys across Liverpool and Merseyside
The city, its suburbs and the boroughs of Merseyside.
Liverpool’s buildings range from Georgian terraces and the waterfront’s listed landmarks to Victorian warehouses, post-war estates and new city-centre apartments and student blocks. Many have complex roofs, parapets and high-level stonework that are hard to inspect safely from the ground.
Because we’re based in the city, Liverpool sites are the easiest for us to reach. We survey for housing associations, surveyors, landlords, contractors and homeowners across Merseyside.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s controlled airspace covers most of the city. These are the checks we make for every Liverpool address.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport
The airport’s controlled airspace covers the whole city centre and most of the Wirral, and its Flight Restriction Zone covers the area around the airport in south Liverpool. Flights inside it need permission from air traffic control, which we arrange.
HMP Liverpool and HMP Altcourse
Both prisons, in Walton and Fazakerley in the north of the city, have restricted airspace around them. Nearby sites need extra planning.
Capenhurst
The nuclear site at Capenhurst, across the Mersey to the south, has its own Flight Restriction Zone. Sites nearby need permission.
City centre and the Film Office
City-centre flights need approval from the Liverpool Film Office as well as landowner permissions. Busy streets, events and match days are all planned around.
Rail lines
Merseyrail and mainline routes run right across the city. Network Rail has its own rules for drones near its property, on top of CAA rules.

Restricted doesn’t mean impossible
Restricted zones need more planning and the right permissions. They don’t stop a survey going ahead. Our pilots and office team work together to get approval for even the trickiest Liverpool sites.
- Airspace checked for every address before we quote
- Permissions requested on your behalf
- Risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) for every job
- Weather planned in, including thermal survey conditions

Watch the inspection live
We can live-stream the flight so you and your team can see the inspection as it happens, talk to the pilot and ask for a closer look at specific areas, without travelling to site.
Mapping and surveyor support
As well as imagery and reports, we produce maps, 3D models, point clouds and internal and external scans, so surveyors can measure and report on Liverpool assets with fewer site visits.
Other areas near Liverpool
We also have local pages for these nearby towns and cities. Distances are approximate, by road from Liverpool.
Do you cover all of Merseyside?
Yes. As well as Liverpool, we survey Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and the Wirral. Send us the address and we’ll confirm.
Can you fly near Liverpool John Lennon Airport?
Yes, with permission from air traffic control. Our office is a few minutes from the airport, so we do this all the time. We check every address before we quote, so you’ll know about any restrictions up front.
Can you fly in Liverpool city centre?
Yes, with the right planning. City-centre flights need approval from the Liverpool Film Office, landowner permission for take-off and landing, and a safe area kept clear of the public. We arrange all of this before the survey date.
How quickly can you get to a site in Liverpool?
Our head office is in Speke, so Liverpool is the easiest place for us to reach. Timing depends on the permissions your site needs and the weather. We’ll give you a date when we send your quote.
How much does a drone roof survey in Liverpool cost?
Our drone roof inspections start from £250 + VAT for domestic properties and £350 + VAT for commercial properties, the same as anywhere else we cover. Larger sites and portfolios are quoted individually. See our drone survey prices.
Do I need to be on site for the survey?
Not usually. For most surveys we only need permission to access the area we fly from. If you’d like to see the inspection, we can live-stream it so you can watch remotely and direct the pilot.
