Drone surveys across Hull and the East Riding

The city, the docks and the towns around it.

Hull is a historic port city, with the Old Town’s listed buildings, Victorian terraces and the Avenues, large post-war estates, and docks and industrial sites along the Humber. Wind off the estuary is hard on roofs, chimneys and flashings, and damaged chimney stacks are a common finding.

We survey for housing associations, the council, schools, landlords, and port and commercial operators across Hull and the East Riding, from Hessle and Cottingham to Beverley.

__ Local knowledge

Flying in Hull: what we plan around

These are the checks we make for every Hull address before we quote.

Humberside Airport

Humberside Airport lies across the Humber to the south. Its controlled airspace is checked for every site, and we arrange permission where needed.

Port and docks

The docks along the Humber have their own access rules and permits. We work to them and plan take-off spots with the site team.

HMP Hull

Prisons have restricted airspace around them. Sites near HMP Hull, in the east of the city, need extra planning.

Rail lines

Lines run from Hull Paragon west towards Leeds and Doncaster and north to Beverley and the coast. Network Rail has its own rules for drones near its property, on top of CAA rules.

Estuary weather

Wind off the Humber can make sites exposed. We plan around the forecast and rebook if conditions aren’t safe.

Restricted doesn’t mean impossible

Restricted zones need more planning and the right permissions. They don’t stop a survey going ahead. Our pilots and office team work together to get approval for even the trickiest Hull sites.

  • Airspace checked for every address before we quote
  • Permissions requested on your behalf
  • Risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) for every job
  • Weather planned in, including thermal survey conditions

Watch the inspection live

We can live-stream the flight so you and your team can see the inspection as it happens, talk to the pilot and ask for a closer look at specific areas, without travelling to site.

Mapping and surveyor support

As well as imagery and reports, we produce maps, 3D models, point clouds and internal and external scans, so surveyors can measure and report on Hull assets with fewer site visits.

__ FAQs

Hull drone survey FAQs

Can’t find your answer? Call us on 0345 017 5592 or see all FAQs.

Do you cover the East Riding as well as Hull?

Yes. As well as the city, we survey Hessle, Anlaby, Willerby, Cottingham, Beverley and the rest of the East Riding. Send us the address and we’ll confirm.

Can you inspect chimney stacks along a terrace?

Yes. We can capture a whole row of chimneys and roofs in one visit, which is quicker and cheaper than scaffolding each property. Damaged pots, flaunching and pointing show up clearly.

Can you survey port and commercial buildings?

Yes. We work to the site’s own rules and permits, and capture large roofs and structures in one visit, with no disruption to work below.

How quickly can you get to a site in Hull?

Hull is about 125 miles from our Liverpool head office, so we plan visits in advance and often group them together. We’ll give you a date when we send your quote.

How much does a drone roof survey in Hull cost?

Our drone roof inspections start from £250 + VAT for domestic properties and £350 + VAT for commercial properties, the same as anywhere else we cover. Larger sites and portfolios are quoted individually. See our drone survey prices.

Do I need to be on site for the survey?

Not usually. For most surveys we only need permission to access the area we fly from. If you’d like to see the inspection, we can live-stream it so you can watch remotely and direct the pilot.
