The city, its suburbs and the towns around it.
Preston is Lancashire’s administrative centre. Victorian terraces, mills and civic buildings sit alongside a busy city centre, a large university campus and fast-growing housing developments on the edge of the city.
We survey for housing associations, councils, schools, surveyors and contractors across central Lancashire, from Chorley and Leyland to Longridge and the Ribble Valley.

There are several restricted areas around Preston. These are the checks we make for every Preston address before we quote.
Springfields
The Springfields nuclear fuel site at Salwick, north west of the city, has a Flight Restriction Zone that stretches from the River Ribble to the M55. Sites inside it need permission.
Warton Aerodrome
Warton Aerodrome’s restricted zone runs along the Ribble from Lytham towards Lea, on the western edge of Preston. We check every site against it.
HMP Preston
Prisons have restricted airspace around them. Sites near HMP Preston, close to the city centre, need extra planning.
Microlight flying
Microlight flying near Hoghton, south east of the city, makes that airspace higher risk. We plan any work nearby carefully.
City centre and university
Busy streets, parks and the student population mean city-centre flights need careful planning: take-off spots, landowner permissions and timing to keep the public safe.

Restricted doesn’t mean impossible
Restricted zones need more planning and the right permissions. They don’t stop a survey going ahead. Our pilots and office team work together to get approval for even the trickiest Preston sites.
- Airspace checked for every address before we quote
- Permissions requested on your behalf
- Risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) for every job
- Weather planned in, including thermal survey conditions

Mapping and surveyor support
As well as imagery and reports, we produce maps, 3D models, point clouds and internal and external scans, so surveyors can measure and report on Preston assets with fewer site visits.

Sites between the River Ribble and the M55 west of Preston may be inside the Springfields Flight Restriction Zone. We check every address before we quote and arrange any permission needed.

Yes. We survey roofs and high-level details on campus and student accommodation without scaffolding, and can work around term times and occupancy.
How quickly can you get to a site in Preston?
Preston is about 35 miles from our Liverpool head office, so we can usually get to site quickly. Timing depends on the permissions your site needs and the weather. We’ll give you a date when we send your quote.
How much does a drone roof survey in Preston cost?
Our drone roof inspections start from £250 + VAT for domestic properties and £350 + VAT for commercial properties, the same as anywhere else we cover. Larger sites and portfolios are quoted individually. See our drone survey prices.
Do I need to be on site for the survey?
Not usually. For most surveys we only need permission to access the area we fly from. If you’d like to see the inspection, we can live-stream it so you can watch remotely and direct the pilot.
