Drone surveys on the Wirral: roof surveys and inspections across the peninsula
Drone roof surveys, building inspections, thermal surveys and solar panel inspections across the Wirral, from Birkenhead and Wallasey to West Kirby and Heswall.
The Wirral is just across the Mersey from our head office in Speke, so it’s one of the areas we cover most often. We handle the airspace permissions, fly the site and deliver everything to your online portal.
Drone surveys across the Wirral
Every town on the peninsula, from the docks to the Dee coast.
The Wirral mixes Victorian terraces and dockland buildings in Birkenhead and Wallasey with large period homes in Oxton, Heswall and West Kirby, post-war estates and industrial sites along the Mersey. Coastal wind and salt are hard on roofs, chimneys and flashings on both sides of the peninsula.
We survey for housing associations, councils, surveyors, landlords and homeowners across the Wirral, including solar panel inspections on domestic and commercial roofs.

Contractors, developers, fundersConstruction progress on the WirralFlying on the Wirral: the airspace we plan around
Most of the Wirral sits under Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s controlled airspace. These are the checks we make for every Wirral address.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport
The airport’s controlled airspace covers most of the Wirral. We check every site against it and arrange permission from air traffic control where needed.
Hawarden Airport
A smaller area of controlled airspace linked to Hawarden Airport covers the south of the peninsula. Sites near Neston and Ellesmere Port are checked against it.
Schools, colleges and hospitals
Busy sites such as schools, colleges and hospitals need specific permissions and careful timing to keep clear of people.
Rail lines
Merseyrail lines run across the Wirral to West Kirby, New Brighton, Chester and Ellesmere Port. Network Rail has its own rules for drones near its property, on top of CAA rules.
Coastal weather
Both coasts can be windy and exposed. We plan around the forecast and rebook if conditions aren’t safe.

Restricted doesn’t mean impossible
Restricted zones need more planning and the right permissions. They don’t stop a survey going ahead. Our pilots and office team work together to get approval for even the trickiest Wirral sites.
- Airspace checked for every address before we quote
- Permissions requested on your behalf
- Risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) for every job
- Weather planned in, including thermal survey conditions

Watch the inspection live
We can live-stream the flight so you and your team can see the inspection as it happens, talk to the pilot and ask for a closer look at specific areas, without travelling to site.
Mapping and surveyor support
As well as imagery and reports, we produce maps, 3D models, point clouds and internal and external scans, so surveyors can measure and report on Wirral assets with fewer site visits.
Other areas near the Wirral
We also have local pages for these nearby towns and cities. Distances are approximate, by road from Birkenhead.
Do you cover the whole Wirral?
Yes. We survey Birkenhead, Wallasey, Bebington, Bromborough, Moreton, Hoylake, West Kirby, Heswall, Neston and everywhere in between. Send us the address and we’ll confirm.
Is the Wirral inside Liverpool airport’s airspace?
Most of it is. That doesn’t stop a survey going ahead: we check every address before we quote and request any permission needed from air traffic control.
Can you inspect solar panels?
Yes. We capture close-up images of panels, fixings and the roof around them, and can add a thermal survey to find faulty or underperforming panels.
How quickly can you get to a site on the Wirral?
The Wirral is just across the Mersey from our head office in Speke, so we can usually get to site quickly. Timing depends on the permissions your site needs and the weather. We’ll give you a date when we send your quote.
How much does a drone roof survey on the Wirral cost?
Our drone roof inspections start from £250 + VAT for domestic properties and £350 + VAT for commercial properties, the same as anywhere else we cover. Larger sites and portfolios are quoted individually. See our drone survey prices.
Do I need to be on site for the survey?
Not usually. For most surveys we only need permission to access the area we fly from. If you’d like to see the inspection, we can live-stream it so you can watch remotely and direct the pilot.
