Drone surveys across Skegness and the coast

The town, the seafront and the resorts and villages along the coast.

Skegness is one of the busiest seaside resorts in the country. Salt air and North Sea winds wear roofs, flashings and gutters faster than inland, and the seafront has many flat-roofed and older buildings that are hard to reach.

Along the coast, holiday parks and caravan sites have dozens of buildings, many with fibre cement sheet roofs that nobody should walk on. A drone records them all in one visit. We survey for park operators, hotels, landlords, the council and homeowners.

Holiday park or caravan site? We capture every roof on the site in one visit, including fibre cement roofs that may contain asbestos, with nobody going up on them.

Flying in Skegness: what we plan around

These are the checks we make for every Skegness address before we quote.

Skegness Airfield

The small airfield north of the town is used by light aircraft and pleasure flights. We check every site against it and plan around its traffic.

Military flying

Lincolnshire is busy with military aircraft from RAF Coningsby, and there are air weapons ranges over The Wash. We check for active restrictions before every flight.

Seafront and summer crowds

The beach, the seafront and events get very busy in summer. We plan take-off spots and timings to keep clear of the public, and often fly early or out of season.

Rail lines

The line from Skegness runs inland towards Boston and Nottingham. Network Rail has its own rules for drones near its property, on top of CAA rules.

Restricted doesn’t mean impossible

Restricted zones need more planning and the right permissions. They don’t stop a survey going ahead. Our pilots and office team work together to get approval for even the trickiest Skegness sites.

  • Airspace checked for every address before we quote
  • Permissions requested on your behalf
  • Risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) for every job
  • Weather planned in, including thermal survey conditions

Watch the inspection live

We can live-stream the flight so you and your team can see the inspection as it happens, talk to the pilot and ask for a closer look at specific areas, without travelling to site.

Mapping and surveyor support

As well as imagery and reports, we produce maps, 3D models, point clouds and internal and external scans, so surveyors can measure and report on Skegness assets with fewer site visits.

__ FAQs

Skegness drone survey FAQs

Can’t find your answer? Call us on 0345 017 5592 or see all FAQs.

Do you cover the rest of the Lincolnshire coast?

Yes. As well as Skegness, we survey Ingoldmells, Chapel St Leonards, Mablethorpe, Sutton-on-Sea and the towns and villages inland. Send us the address and we’ll confirm.

Can you fly in coastal winds?

Our drones fly safely in moderate wind, but strong gusts off the sea can stop a flight. We watch the forecast and move the date if we need to, at no extra cost.

Can you survey a whole holiday park?

Yes. We capture every roof on the site in one visit and deliver the images in your online portal, so you can plan repairs across the whole park. We can work out of season to avoid guests.

How quickly can you get to a site in Skegness?

Skegness is about 160 miles from our Liverpool head office, so we plan visits in advance and often group them together. We’ll give you a date when we send your quote.

How much does a drone roof survey in Skegness cost?

Our drone roof inspections start from £250 + VAT for domestic properties and £350 + VAT for commercial properties, the same as anywhere else we cover. Larger sites and portfolios are quoted individually. See our drone survey prices.

Do I need to be on site for the survey?

Not usually. For most surveys we only need permission to access the area we fly from. If you’d like to see the inspection, we can live-stream it so you can watch remotely and direct the pilot.
