Drone surveys in Oxford: roof surveys for colleges, homes and listed buildings
Drone roof surveys, building inspections, thermal surveys and measured surveys across Oxford, Abingdon, Kidlington and Oxfordshire.
Historic colleges, stone and lead roofs, Victorian terraces and science parks. We survey roofs and high-level details without scaffolding and deliver everything to your online portal.
Drone surveys across Oxford
The city, its suburbs and the towns of Oxfordshire.
Oxford’s centre is full of listed college buildings, churches and libraries, with stone parapets, lead and slate roofs and complex gutters that are hard to inspect from the ground. Scaffolding in narrow, busy streets is slow and disruptive.
Beyond the centre are Victorian terraces in Jericho and East Oxford, villas in North Oxford and Summertown, hospitals and research buildings in Headington, and industrial and science parks around the ring road. We work for colleges, the universities, housing associations, landlords, surveyors and commercial owners.

College or listed building? We capture stone, lead and slate roofs, parapets and gutters without anything touching the building. See church and heritage roof surveys.

These are the checks we make for every Oxford address before we quote.
London Oxford Airport
The airport at Kidlington, north of the city, has a Flight Restriction Zone. Sites nearby need permission, which we arrange before the survey date.
RAF Brize Norton and Weston-on-the-Green
RAF Brize Norton’s controlled airspace reaches the west of the city, and the RAF uses Weston-on-the-Green for parachute training. We check every address against both.
Colleges, students and visitors
The centre is busy with students and visitors all year. We arrange permission with the colleges and plan take-off spots and timings to keep clear of the public.
Rail lines
Lines run through Oxford station towards London, Birmingham and the Cotswolds. Network Rail has its own rules for drones near its property, on top of CAA rules.

Restricted doesn’t mean impossible
Restricted zones need more planning and the right permissions. They don’t stop a survey going ahead. Our pilots and office team work together to get approval for even the trickiest Oxford sites.
- Airspace checked for every address before we quote
- Permissions requested on your behalf
- Risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) for every job
- Weather planned in, including thermal survey conditions

We can live-stream the flight so you and your team can see the inspection as it happens, talk to the pilot and ask for a closer look at specific areas, without travelling to site.
Mapping and surveyor support
As well as imagery and reports, we produce maps, 3D models, point clouds and internal and external scans, so surveyors can measure and report on Oxford assets with fewer site visits.
Other areas near Oxford
We also have local pages for these nearby towns and cities. Distances are approximate, by road from Oxford.
Do you cover the rest of Oxfordshire?
Yes. As well as the city, we survey Abingdon, Kidlington, Witney, Bicester, Didcot and towns and villages across the county. Send us the address and we’ll confirm.
Can you survey college buildings?
Yes. A drone survey doesn’t touch the building, so it’s well suited to listed college buildings. We arrange permission with the college and can work around term times.
Is my site near Oxford Airport or RAF Brize Norton?
Sites close to either need permission before we can fly. We check every address before we quote, so you’ll know about any restrictions up front.
How quickly can you get to a site in Oxford?
Oxford is about 165 miles from our Liverpool head office, so we plan visits in advance and often group them together. We’ll give you a date when we send your quote.
How much does a drone roof survey in Oxford cost?
Our drone roof inspections start from £250 + VAT for domestic properties and £350 + VAT for commercial properties, the same as anywhere else we cover. Larger sites and portfolios are quoted individually. See our drone survey prices.
Do I need to be on site for the survey?
Not usually. For most surveys we only need permission to access the area we fly from. If you’d like to see the inspection, we can live-stream it so you can watch remotely and direct the pilot.
