Drone surveys in Bristol: roof surveys across the city and the South West
Drone roof surveys, façade inspections, thermal surveys and measured surveys across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.
Georgian terraces, hillside streets, harbourside warehouses and new developments. We survey roofs and high-level details without scaffolding and deliver everything to your online portal.
Drone surveys across Bristol
The city, its suburbs and the towns around it.
Bristol’s building stock is varied. Clifton and Hotwells have Georgian terraces and crescents, many of them listed. Bedminster, Totterdown and Montpelier have Victorian terraces on steep streets, where scaffolding is awkward and costly. The harbourside has former warehouses converted into flats and offices.
Around the city we survey housing estates, schools, the universities, hospitals, industrial units and new developments in Filton, Patchway and Temple Quarter. We work for housing associations, the council, managing agents, landlords, surveyors and commercial owners.

Steep street or tall terrace? Hillside sites are where drones save the most. We fly from a safe spot nearby and capture the whole roof without anyone working at height.

These are the checks we make for every Bristol address before we quote.
Bristol Airport
Bristol Airport, south west of the city, has controlled airspace that reaches towards the city centre and a Flight Restriction Zone around the airport. We arrange permission from air traffic control before the survey date.
HMP Bristol
The prison at Horfield, north of the city centre, has restricted airspace around it. Nearby sites need extra planning.
Events and the Balloon Fiesta
Big events, such as the International Balloon Fiesta at Ashton Court, bring crowds and temporary airspace restrictions. We plan survey dates around them.
Rail lines
Lines run through Temple Meads and Parkway towards London, Wales, Birmingham and the South West. Network Rail has its own rules for drones near its property, on top of CAA rules.

Restricted doesn’t mean impossible
Restricted zones need more planning and the right permissions. They don’t stop a survey going ahead. Our pilots and office team work together to get approval for even the trickiest Bristol sites.
- Airspace checked for every address before we quote
- Permissions requested on your behalf
- Risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) for every job
- Weather planned in, including thermal survey conditions

Mapping and surveyor support
As well as imagery and reports, we produce maps, 3D models, point clouds and internal and external scans, so surveyors can measure and report on Bristol assets with fewer site visits.
Other areas near Bristol
We also have local pages for these nearby towns and cities. Distances are approximate, by road from Bristol.
Do you cover the area around Bristol?
Yes. As well as the city, we survey South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Bath and the towns around Bristol. Send us the address and we’ll confirm.
Is my site inside Bristol Airport’s airspace?
Parts of the city are. That doesn’t stop a survey going ahead: we check every address before we quote and request permission from air traffic control where needed.
Can you survey listed Georgian terraces?
Yes. A drone survey doesn’t touch the building, so it’s well suited to listed buildings and conservation areas. You get detailed images of roofs, parapets, chimneys and gutters.
How quickly can you get to a site in Bristol?
Bristol is about 165 miles from our Liverpool head office, so we plan visits in advance and often group them together. We’ll give you a date when we send your quote.
How much does a drone roof survey in Bristol cost?
Our drone roof inspections start from £250 + VAT for domestic properties and £350 + VAT for commercial properties, the same as anywhere else we cover. Larger sites and portfolios are quoted individually. See our drone survey prices.
Do I need to be on site for the survey?
Not usually. For most surveys we only need permission to access the area we fly from. If you’d like to see the inspection, we can live-stream it so you can watch remotely and direct the pilot.
