Construction Progress Monitoring
Site progress monitoring gives your whole project team a clear, visual record of progress, captured at pre-agreed intervals, usually weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
Our drones capture 4K photos, video and survey data from the same positions every visit, so you can compare progress against the programme at a glance. The same flight can also produce orthomosaics, 3D models and volumetric measurements.
It’s faster and safer than walking the site, and it doesn’t disrupt work on the ground. Updates are easy to share with clients, investors and stakeholders.

Why Clients Choose Drone Progress Monitoring
Regular aerial updates keep everyone informed and help keep the project on track. Clients benefit from:
Knowing the condition of your whole portfolio lets you mitigate risk, prioritise spending and act on real evidence rather than assumptions.
__ Survey data
More than photos
The same flight that captures your progress photos can collect data to build a 3D model of the whole site. From it we can measure heights, lengths, areas and volumes, and produce topographical surveys, orthomosaics and surface or terrain models.
Compare each visit against the last to track earthworks, stockpiles and build progress with real measurements.
Progress you can see and measure.

__ Why drones
Why use drones for progress monitoring?
Walking a large site to record progress takes time and can mean working in hazardous areas. A drone captures the whole site from above in minutes, without disrupting work on the ground.
- No one at height. Whole-site views without cherry pickers or scaffold access.
- Fast capture. The whole site recorded in minutes, not hours.
- Consistent every visit. Same positions and heights, so progress is easy to compare.
- Beyond imagery. Orthomosaics, 3D models and volumes from the same flight.
- Easy to share. Updates ready for clients, investors and stakeholders.
The same viewpoints, every visit, so progress is easy to compare.

__ Why choose us
Why choose Drone Site Surveys?
Drone Site Surveys specialises in professional survey and inspection data capture rather than general aerial photography.
Our pilots work specifically across commercial and domestic properties, as well as building, construction and land surveying environments. With experience in roof and façade inspections, they understand how to capture clear, relevant imagery that supports practical condition assessment, defect identification and informed decision-making.
Clients choose Drone Site Surveys for our specialist experience, professional standards and independent approach:
__ How it works
Our progress monitoring process
From first enquiry to secure delivery, every survey follows the same six steps, so you always know what happens next and when.
Tell us about the property
Tell us about the site, the programme and how often you need updates. We’ll agree the viewpoints and deliverables for each visit.
Planning and quote
We carry out a desktop assessment of the property and the surrounding airspace, check the survey against current UK drone regulations, and prepare your quote. You receive it by email with no obligation, along with the airspace map for your site and an example delivery so you can see exactly what you’ll be getting.
Booking your date
Once you’re happy with the quote we add your job to the schedule and start monitoring the Met Office forecast. In the meantime we prepare the pre-flight paperwork, including our risk assessment and method statement (RAMS), which we can send over for your records. As soon as we have a clear weather window and pilot availability, we confirm your attendance date. You don’t normally need to be on site.
The survey
Our CAA approved pilots fly the same positions and heights on every visit, capturing photos, video and survey data as agreed.
Processing
Every visit is checked and organised by date, with any orthomosaics, 3D models or measurements processed at this stage.
Delivery
We email you a link to our secure online portal, where your imagery, reports and any other agreed outputs are ready to view, download and share with your team or contractors. Alongside the deliverables you’ll find a folder containing the pre-flight paperwork, a copy of the drone airspace map for your site and any other relevant documents, so everything from the survey is in one place.

Frequently Asked
Questions
Answers to the questions we are asked most often about drone progress monitoring. If yours is not covered here, give us a call.
What is site progress monitoring?
Regular drone surveys of a construction site at agreed intervals, capturing photos, video and data to record how the project is progressing.
How often can you visit?
Whatever suits your programme. Most clients choose weekly, fortnightly or monthly visits, with extra flights for key milestones.
Can you capture the same views each time?
Yes. We fly the same positions and heights on every visit, so progress can be compared like-for-like.
What data can you collect?
As well as photos and video, we can capture data to create orthomosaics, 3D models, topographical surveys and volume measurements.
Will the drone disrupt work on site?
No. We agree flight times and take-off areas with your site team in advance, and the survey doesn’t stop work on the ground.
Can you make a time lapse?
Yes. Visits can be combined into a time lapse showing the whole build from start to finish.
